This morning, the Ontario Central-East Division officially launched their annual Christmas Kettle Campaign with Kevin Frankish from Breakfast Television! Accompanied by the Kettle Band, Kevin and Jeff Robertson, Area Director filled the first kettle of the season. With Christmas around the corner, we must remember that poverty isn’t always easy to see, especially during the holidays. This annual holiday campaign will help provide assistance to those struggling to make ends meet in our community.

With over 400 locations across the GTA, The Salvation Army’s campaign goal this year is $3 million. Funds received from the Christmas Kettles stay in the community and help support the work of The Salvation Army during the holiday season and throughout the year. When you support the Christmas Kettle Campaign, you are helping us to continue operating our life-changing programs. From practical assistance for children and families to providing shelter for those experiencing homelessness, The Salvation Army is investing in the future of overlooked people in the GTA.

For over 130 years, The Salvation Army has provided hope and dignity to those in need and we couldn’t have done this without our volunteers. “Volunteers play a crucial role in assisting us to raise funds so we can continue to help those in the communities we serve,” says Major Lynn Cummings, Divisional Volunteers Services Secretary and Kettle Coordinator (interim). “We are always in need of volunteers to assist with our Christmas Kettles”.
