Successful 15th Annual Golf Classic in Toronto
For 15 consecutive years, The Salvation Army’s Toronto Golf Classic has been the means of generating substantial funding and awareness in support of Salvation Army services. Held at the Angus Glen Golf Club north of Toronto on September 11 – one of Canada’s most prestigious golf courses and home of the first-ever Pan Am Games tourney – the event proved to be a resounding success raising well over $25,000 in support of the Army’s Broadview Village.
Broadview Village, home to 65 adults with development disabilities, also operates an enrichment program whereby counsellors assist residents to lead safe, fulfilling lives within their homes and neighbourhoods through work experiences and community activities. Broadview’s program provides supportive services for its people within several Toronto neighbourhoods.
Special guests as the tournament included Lt-Colonel Sandra Rice, Divisional Commander, Ontario Central-East Division; advisory board Chair, Stephen Morson, along with board members Andrew Lennox and Richard Burjaw.
