It’s not just a passion, but an ongoing commitment. For five years, the Prince George Hospitality staff have participated in the annual Salvation Army’s Santa Shuffle keeping fit and having fun while helping to meet people’s basic needs of food, clothing and shelter.

“Our team loves the Santa Shuffle – what started out with a few employees wanting to get healthier combined with giving back to the community has become a much talked about event,” says Carol Logan, Director of Human Resources for the Prince George Hotel. “This event not only boosts our collective activity level, but offers a sense of ownership as one of our events for the year.”

This year, the Prince George is 40 in size and the hotel is also sponsoring the event for the first time. Coordinated in matching blue outfits, the Prince George hospitality elves will also bring toys with them for The Salvation Army’s Christmas toy drives.

“It is two-fold for us, our employees take great pride in getting involved in supporting our community and we hospitality professionals like to have fun; the Santa Shuffle covers these factors. It’s such a rewarding way to share with others especially at Christmas,” says Carol.

This event takes place in cities across the country on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Participants are encouraged to wear their North Pole finest whether it’s a full Santa or Mrs. Claus suit, Christmas sweaters, or elf wear. Runners who raise $50 or more receive a t-shirt and those who raise $100 or more receive a free shirt and a Running Room gift card. And everyone gets a medal, not just for participating in the event but for helping The Salvation Army out just before Christmas – the community’s greatest time of need.
