It’s time to dust off your skates and lace up for a good cause. On Saturday, February 27, from 1-3p.m. The Salvation Army is holding a food drive in support of feeding programs in Halifax and Dartmouth, at the Emera Oval. Children can enjoy free face painting, and our mascot, Sally Ann will be on-site to join in the fun. The first 300 people to donate a non-perishable food item will receive a free hot chocolate from BeaverTails.

“With the price of food increasing, we are not seeing the same amount of donations coming in our doors,” says Kelly Currie, Dartmouth Community Services Coordinator. “These food drives are crucial in the fight against hunger.”

Come and join us for a great afternoon and help keep our shelves stocked this winter.
