The Salvation Army in Charlottetown is getting a little romantic for an upcoming fundraiser, as it will host the inaugural Hope in the City Valentine’s Fundraising Dinner on Friday, Feb. 14.

The Army has partnered with Holland College for this event, with the institution managing food for the event. Meals will be prepared by the Culinary Institute of Canada, representing Culinary Team PEI.

Organizers are expecting nearly 100 people to come out for the inaugural event, an important first step with an eye on future growth.

“We’re really excited about it,” says Capt. Elaine Locke, Corps Officer in Charlottetown. “We think it’s going to go over really well. Everyone we talk to about it is pretty excited as well, and they’ve come along side and shown their support of this event.”

The event will begin at 7 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 158 Fitzroy Street. Contact Charlottetown Community and Family Services at (902) 892-8870 for more information.
