The 2012 Santa Shuffle is now just one month away, meaning runners and walkers all over the Maritimes are busy getting ready to ring in the holiday season with either a five-kilometre run or one-kilometre walk in five locations around the region.

This year Santa Shuffles will be held in Dartmouth, Moncton, Saint John, Fredericton and Charlottetown.

The Santa Shuffle is a key fundraiser during the holiday season for The Salvation Army. Poverty affects nearly 3.5 million Canadians today, many of them children. The Santa Shuffle raises critical funds that aid programs such as our Christmas support hampers, which provide everything for a Christmas meal as well as gifts for all of the children in a house, to those in need in our community. Last year alone, over 17,000 children in the Maritimes lived in homes that received Christmas support.

The Santa Shuffle wouldn’t be possible without national sponsor All Weather Windows and national partner Running Room.

This year, our friends at WestJet have expanded their involvement, offering a pair of tickets anywhere WestJet flies to one lucky Santa Shuffler in each of the races in Halifax, Moncton and Charlottetown. For contest eligibility, please contact your local Race Director.

Registration is available online now.CLICK HERE to visit the Santa Shuffle website. Registration and more information is also available from your local Running Room location.

Gather your pledges and get ready to shuffle on Saturday, Dec. 1.
