Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick visits Lakeview Manor

Located in the Greater Moncton area, specifically Riverview, N.B., Lakeview Manor is the only long-term care home (nursing home) operated by The Salvation Army in the Maritime Provinces. The 50-bed facility was opened in May of 1982 and remains in high demand with a waiting list of over 70.
The Honourable Mr. Nicholas visited on October 6th and spent time with staff, residents and their families. He made special note of Marie Bedford and Margaret Fawcett, the facility’s two oldest residents. The visit was scheduled to coincide as closely as possible to Ms. Bedford’s 106th birthday which was October 10th. Ms. Fawcett, 101, will turn 102 in December.
The event marked the first visit to Lakeview Manor by a Lieutenant Governor in its history. Executive Director Major Wayne Williams said that the visit was part of Lakeview’s mission to open its doors to the community and have the community come in and interact with its residents, helping contribute to a strong quality of life.
