Aug 8th was the date for the second annual Charity Golf Tournament hosted by Transcontinental Printing in support of The Salvation Army’s Scotian Glen Camp.

This is a milestone year for Scotian Glen as they celebrate 55 years of providing a camping experience for deserving Maritime kids – kids who might otherwise never have a chance to go to summer camp.

Marian Kerr, General Manager, Atlantic Division, is a member of The Salvation Army Halifax Advisory Board. She wanted to find a way to engage her staff and suppliers in making a difference for kids. Her vision and the dedication of her team is reaping results.

68 participants enjoyed the beauty of Granite Springs and were delighted the rain held off until all teams had finished the course. The live auction and delicious hip of beef buffet were enjoyed by all. No one when home empty handed as prizes were given to all participants.

This year, RBC came onboard as a ‘hole in one’ sponsor with all The Salvation Army golf events. $10,000 prize would be presented to the individual who accomplished this feat on the 8th hole. The very first swing was the closest coming within approx five feet of prize.

The goal of $12,000 has been exceeded and there are many supporters to thank. Visit on our on-line photo album on the left.
