The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
*Planning, developing and facilitating Employment Workshops for immigrants and refugees.
*Facilitating employment workshops at community partner locations and at The Barbara Mitchell Family
Resource Centre.
*Contacting community organizations via phone, email and/or in person to introduce workshops and schedule facilitation days.
*Building social networks through trusting and respectful relationships.
*Evaluating workshops and conducting participant follow ups to assess workshop impact.
*Working in harmony with policies of The Salvation Army, the employees and the programs.
*Providing individual job coaching when needed referring participants to community agencies/resources as necessary
*Maintaining workshop information including participant information, evaluations and outcomes in a professional and confidential manner.
*Submitting regular progress reports to Supervisor.
*Other duties as assisgned.


*Completion of post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
*Client centered with excellent interpersonal skills.
*Knowledge of plain language, adult literacy and English as an Additional Language, issues.
*Experience planning and delivering training and providing support in a cross cultural setting.
*Experience in facilitation of resume development, job search and interviews.
*Minimum one year prior related work experience.
*Ability to speak a language in addition to English is an asset.

The successful candidate must hold/have:
*Valid Driver’s license and access to a vehicle
*Criminal Police Investigation check
*Child Abuse Registry check
*Current Certification in First Aid/ CPR

SALARY/GRADE: $16.31 – $24.46 / Grade 9 (Position funded at $18.49)
Hours: 22.5 hrs/wk
Term Position to March 31,2018
