Salary $11.64 to $12.50 per hour



Participate in client interviews as required

Maintain confidentiality and keep accurate client files and statistical records

Communicate directly with Community Ministry Coordinator on community services issues

May represent The Salvation Army at community events and meetings

Comply with required policies and procedures of outside funding agencies

Assist with the running of new programs and ensure appropriate policies are followed

Assist in the delivery of CFS focused events – i.e. Social Services Sunday, Volunteer Recognition events

Assist Community Ministry Coordinator with presentations to internal and external groups regarding program and services provided by Community and Family Services (as required)

Assist in the organization, maintenance and general cleanliness of the Food Bank, maintains inventory food level

Perform other position related duties as required



Completed High School, plus specialized courses of up to six (6) months 

One year of prior related experience

Professional administrative skills

Good interpersonal and organizational skills

Ability to work unsupervised and in a team working environment

Previous experience in community based programs is a definite asset

Computer literate in Microsoft Office i.e. Word

Strong oral and written communication skills

Self-motivated and disciplined

Provide an original copy of a Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.  The screening is secured either through the national Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) or through a local police detachment.

Screening through The Salvation Army Abuse Registry.

Understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada.

SALARY/GRADE:$11.64 per hour to $12.50 per hour, grade 7, full time position, 35 hrs. /week, schedule may vary according to requirements of responsibilities and will be based on operational hours Monday to Saturday, some weekend and evening work may be required.  Some flexibility in scheduling may be required.


Normal hours of work:  9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. which includes a ½ hour unpaid meal break
