Toys collected for those in need.


Vancouver’s Vogue Theatre and Victoria’s Royal Theatre once again hosted the annual Naden Band Christmas Concert. The Concerts were hosted on December 6th in Vancouver and December 10th, 11th and 12th in Victoria, all in the name of supporting The Salvation Army’s Christmas Toy Drive.

Gifts needed for Teens.


Each year, it is a challenge to find suitable gifts for pre teen and teens between the ages of 11 to 15.  The Salvation Army Community & Family Services find that gift cards are a huge help and cater to the interests of this age group.

Gift cards to: malls, movie passes, londondrugs, iTunes, restaurants, etc. are definitely appreciated.

Tuesday, December 11th will mark the 11th year of the Donnelly Group Annual Toy Drive in partnership with The Salvation Army and the Donnelly Fund.  This highly anticipated event is feted with a public reception at Republic Nightclub.  The annual Toy Drive ensures a special Christmas for those less fortunate across the Lower Mainland. The 19th annual CHEK News Christmas Charity Drive Thru takes place tonight at the Accent Inn Victoria hotel, located at the corner of Blanshard Street and Cloverdale Avenue ( 3233 Maple Street ).

Stop by between 5pm – 7pm & come meet the CHEK News On-Air personalities and donate Clothing, Food and Cash to The Salvation Army.

Just peachy!


The Fresh from the Farm program in Penticton, British Columbia is loading up with fresh fruit by engaging over 30 youth in the summer effort.  McCains and Food Banks Canada granted the Penticton Salvation Army $5,000 to cover the cost of gas, canning supplies, and food safe for all of the young participants of this program.

This unique experience is a collaboration between The Salvation Army Penticton and the First Baptist Church.

5000 kids to be back to school ready.

Through a joint collaboration between First Baptist Church Youth Group (The Arc) & The Penticton Salvation Army Community Kitchen, youth groups have been picking an abundance of delicious fruits and berries.  This harvest season, blueberries, cherries and apricots have been picked with peaches, pears, apples, tomatoes, carrots, garlic and peppers all coming soon!

The Community Kitchen will be hosting 12 different canning tutorials over the next few months with all participants looking forward to learning more and I’m sure, sampling some […]

Big thanks to Vancouver Island Charity Riders!  Because of your donation, The Salvation Army is able to send two Victoria area kids to Camp Sunrise!  In addition, through many other generous donations, another 36 Victoria area kids are able to enjoy camp this summer too.

The Stan Hagen Centre for families is thrilled that they are able to provide 38 local kids with an exciting and stimulating camping experience on the Sunshine Coast.
