Elite Performance Basketball Camp is on!



The Salvation Army in partnership with Strathcona Community Centre is hosting the Elite Performance Basketball Camp August 18-21!

This week-long training camp is for teens aged 14 – 18 and focuses on developing basketball skills, teamwork, and having fun!

5000 kids in need to receive backpacks!


The Salvation Army is proud to present, the 5th Annual Backpack & School Supply Drive running from July 14th through to September 11th.   The goal of the effort, in partnership with BC Chiropractic Association, Staples, Fitness Town, Canadian Bible Society, Salvation Army Thrift Stores, Starbucks along with media sponsors, Breakfast Television, OMNI, CKNW and 24 Hours, is to raise funds and school supplies for 5000+ kids in need throughout the Province as they begin a new school year.

The need:

Esther’s Place.


When women and children flee abusive homes, The Salvation Army’s Kate Booth House in Vancouver offers immediate shelter and support.

But that’s only a temporary solution and after 30 days they have to move on. One of the next stops for some is the Army’s Esther’s Place, a 4-apartment safe house where families can stay up to two years.

Hockey For Good to raise funds to send kids to camp.


Hockey for Good is a one day, round robin style street hockey tournament hosted by The Salvation Army Caring Place in Maple Ridge, BC.

All of the proceeds from Hockey for Good are being used to send at-risk youth and teens from Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows to Camp Sunrise in Gibsons, BC.

Ringer-a-thon raises $464.


Dalton Moffat pitched horseshoes to raise money for The Salvation Army’s work in Africa on May 12.

Dalton, a member of Westsong Community Church and active volunteer pitched 100 horseshoes scoring 24 ringers.

He raised $464 by collecting pledges from sponsors.

Rock’n’Roll Easter.


The Salvation Army Rock’n’Roll Easter Event celebrated Easter by inviting families to a local park where they had the opportunity to enjoy snacks and refreshments, a puppet show, sing-a-long songs, games, crafts and even a jellybean contest! With well over 100 people in attendance, fun and celebration was enjoyed by all.
