Record-breaking campaign for the Vernon Food Bank


A total of $457,932.46 was collected during the Christmas Hope campaign which surpassed the 2011 total by $59,119.72.The Salvation Army’s Food Bank fundraising drive surpassed all records set during its 110 years in Vernon.“We are extremely grateful” said Capt. Jean-Curtis Plante.“We have surpassed a number of milestones this year thanks to the incredible support of our volunteers and an exceptionally generous community.”

Valley First Staff Makes a Difference in Penticton


Valley First and its community program Feed The Valley has been an integral support to The Salvation Army Community Food Bank in Penticton for more than five years.  Almost 65,000 pounds of food has been collected and more than $943,000 has been donated since the launch of the Feed The Valley program in March 2010.

5th Annual Craftsman Collision Making A Dent Food Drive.


This Saturday, September 14th from 1.00pm to 5.00pm Craftsman Collision, Save-On Foods and Price Smart Foods will team with The Salvation Army for the 5th Annual Making a Dent Food Drive.  The goal of this event is to ensure that no families go hungry this Fall.

Food Drive Friday is happening this Friday July 27th during the Weekend of Mayhem atWestern Speedway.

Join The Salvation Army’s fight to help alleviate hunger in the community by making a donation to the Stan Hagen Centre for Families Emergency Food Bank. Staff and Volunteers will be at Western Speedway’s main gate on Friday before the race accepting both fresh and non-perishable food items.

Much needed items include:
