Local company, Escents Aromatherapy, will launch a new women’s eau de parfum line with 10% of all profits benefiting The Salvation Army and our efforts to combat human trafficking.

Escents proudly supports The Salvation Army’s commitment to helping victims, restoring their freedom, dignity and self-respect. Partial proceeds from the parfum line will directly benefit Deborah’s Gate, The Salvation Army’s specialized care program that serves international and domestic women who have been sexually exploited and need protection, housing and healing.

“The Salvation Army is grateful to be able to collaborate with local businesses, such as Escents, who support the work we do in our communities by sharing the responsibility of spreading awareness and education around human trafficking,” says Major Ken Ritson, Divisional Secretary for Public Relations & Development, The Salvation Army British Columbia Division. “Our collective response to stop human trafficking in our local communities is an inspiration to continue working towards change and positive action.”

“We are honoured to partner with The Salvation Army to profile and support its extremely important work with Deborah’s Gate, a local safe house for victims of human trafficking,” says Escents Founder Jacqui MacNeill. “The new fragrances are inspired by strong women, making them a natural fit with this cause and The Salvation Army’s work here.”

Available in four scents – Joy, Hope, Grace and Courage – each fragrance reflects the complex and unique sides of a woman, as well as what she inspires in others. Like all Escents products, the new Eau de Parfum line is made with 100% pure essential oils and botanical extracts and are DPG and phthalate free.

Joy
Created to inspire joy in others, in the world, and in the wearer. A passionate scent with the top notes of Violet and Jasmine.

Hope
A rich scent, bright and uplifting as hope itself. An indulgent scent with the top notes of Vanilla and Bergamot.

Grace
Complex yet serene, like grace itself, this earthy scent elevates the body and the mind. A balanced scent with the top notes of Lily and Cedar wood.

Courage
Fiery and headstrong with a touch of sweetness. An energizing scent with the top notes of Ylang Ylang and Ginger.

Gaining more support and momentum year after year, last year’s 2011 Hope in the City Luncheon was no exception in being the largest most well attended event in its capacity to date.

This annual fundraiser benefits The Salvation Army’s fight against human sexual trafficking and raised $110,000 to provide support and a safe environment for survivors of exploitation and human sexual trafficking.

Over 450 guests attended this year’s event, representing a business savvy, philanthropic, community-minded, influential and affluentVancouverdemographic.

Funds raised over the last seven years were critical in opening a safe house for survivors, the first of its kind in Canada. Through the support of those who care, Deborah’s Gate can continue to provide safe shelter and supportive recovery in a dignified and non-judgemental environment.

Thank you to MC, Tamara Taggart and expert speakers, Benjamin Perrin and MP Joy Smith.

Your generosity helps us in our continued fight to DO SOMETHING.
