Enough to fill a motorhome!

Big Boy’s Toys RV Center is helping to feed central Vancouver Island’s hungry with its annual campaign which strives to fill a motor home with food.  The campaign runs until Dec. 15, assisting The Salvation Army with donations to accommodate for increased demands, especially over the holiday season.

Over the last three years, more than 10,400 kilograms of food as well as cash donations have been donated.

Thanks to students from Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business as they coordinated a ‘Toonie Drive: Toonies for Tummies’ to support work being done by The Salvation Army in British Columbia.

Students are collecting clothing, non perishable food items and cash donations at the following locations and times:

This year’s Thanksgiving Meal at The Salvation Army’s Harbour Light Vancouver served close 1200 people.

On the menu was 1200 ears of corn on the cob, 140Turkeysand 260 pumpkin pies!  Also served was juice, hot tea we milk and sugar, fresh buns with butter, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing and fresh oranges.
