A letter of Hope.

Friends,

As we look around our community, we can see that there are many who live day to day believing they have little or no hope for the future. Many wonder where their next meal will come from, or how to pay their bills for the month, while others wonder where they will sleep tonight. With all of life’s pressures and hardships, Christmas can begin to feel like just another burden.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of our community in Central Okanagan:

  • Over 450 families including 900 children received a Christmas food & toy hamper
  • Almost 2,000 households consisting of 3,843 people including 1303 children were provided with emergency food, clothing and furniture vouchers, income tax assistance, referrals to supporting agencies, summer camp, life skills training, and advocacy.
  • Over 1300 volunteers provided 16,000 hours of service.

Throughout the Christmas season, we see and hear of so many acts of generosity and kindness. The Salvation Army’s desire is to continue to provide assistance to all those in need by way of the donations received from the community. All funds raised through our Christmas campaign are used to support our work locally.

This Christmas season, we ask for your support to GIVE HOPE TODAY and throughout the year.
