The Salvation Army Rock’n’Roll Easter Event celebrated Easter by inviting families to a local park where they had the opportunity to enjoy snacks and refreshments, a puppet show, sing-a-long songs, games, crafts and even a jellybean contest! With well over 100 people in attendance, fun and celebration was enjoyed by all.

Many of those in attendance were clients from  Salvation Army Community and Family Services units from across the Lower Mainland. With the services provided on the day, the goal was to ease some of the pressure felt by parents to provide “something extra” for Easter weekend along with facilitating the opportunity for parents to simply enjoy time with their children.

Additionally, this afternoon witnessed some Salvation Army Vancouver Community and Family Service clients get involved in serving their community and give back through a volunteer capacity.

Rock’n’Roll Easter complimented The City Of Vancouver’s initiative to build “livable, sustainable, and inclusive communities,” by aligning with The Salvation Army’s mandate to help build healthy communities for those in need.

It was wonderful to see various Salvation Army units come together to host such a excellent event – Thank you to VCFS, DHQ Youth Department, Salvation Army Cross Culture, Salvation Army Surrey and Salvation Army Richmond for your effort and collaboration as this was clearly a team effort!
