Joy Smith Foundation supports Deborah’s Gate.

Joy Smith MP brought greetings on behalf of the Joy Smith Foundation to present a grant of $5172.80 to Deborah’s Gate.

Mrs. Joy Smith serves our Country as a Member of Parliament and is recognized as one of Canada’s leading anti-trafficking activists and has brought this discussion to a National level, initiating important changes to our country’s laws by introducing new bills and working with federal Ministers on key legislation to combat human trafficking and protect its victims.

The Joy Smith Foundation works to ensure that every Canadian is safe from the exploitations of forced labour  sex trade or forced labour.  The foundation is committed to public education, and providing funds to support front-line organizations for the rescue and rehabilitation of victims.

The grant will be used directly towards supporting the residents at Deborah’s Gate.  The dollars will assist in providing resources ( rent, education etc. ) for residents so that they can have the freedom to make their own choices as they rebuild their lives.
