Salvation Army to assist victims of Burnaby Fire.

A three alarm fire destroyed 35 pet friendly units in a Burnaby apartment early Sunday morning.  The fire at the Greenacre Apartments, 3526 Smith Avenue, killing numerous pets while destroying the residence.

Burnaby assistant fire chief, Ken Moore, shared that aside from a couple cases of smoke inhalation, there were no reports of serious injuries.  All residents from the building have been located.

The Salvation Army is providing support for the residents and arrangements moving forward include:

The Salvation Army will be collecting clothing, household goods and monetary donations – such donations are needed so that specific items can be purchased along with gift cards to assist those in need.

The hours of operation will be this week, Wednesday, February 20th – Friday, February 22nd from 10am – 3 pm and Monday – Friday next week under the same hours.
