The Salvation Army is seeking support from the community with the annual kettle campaign as donations are down across the Province.

“The Salvation Army in British Columbia is currently at less than 50% of our target, sitting at approximately $1.7 million in donations with a goal to reach $4 million by Christmas Eve,” said Major Ken Ritson, Divisional Secretary for Public Relations and Development in British Columbia.

“The dollars raised through this effort are not only used at Christmas time, but throughout the year as the funds provide resources for our overall operation for the year ahead.  We want to encourage supporters to please donate when they see a kettle and help,” Ritson said.

The Salvation Army is looking to the community to come to the plate and assist in our work in supporting individuals and families during times of need.  Last year, The Salvation Army raised $3.8 million, but the goal increased this year due to greater need in the community.

People are encouraged to donate at kettles, by visiting www.FilltheKettle.com or, text HOPE1000 to 45678 to make a $5 donation.
