This year will mark the 3rd annual CTV Toys4Kids Drive, initiated by grade 12 student Miguel Ramos from Burnaby.  In its inaugural campaign benefiting The Salvation Army, over $5000 and 4500 toys for raised – ensuring that Christmas morning was special for every child across the lower mainland.

In the fall of 2010, St. Thomas More Collegiate teacher, Dave Ruzycki challenged the students in his Planning 10 class, to go into their local communities and make a difference, and give hope.  Ramos responded and engaged in an inspired way, by organizing theToys4Kids Drive.

Shared Ruzycki, “he’s got a really good pitch, he’s not shy. I’m the sponsor teacher. I’m basically there to support him, but it’s his show.  I’ve had people come up and think I’m Miguel Ramos. ”

People are encouraged to donate a new, unwrapped toy or make a cash donation with all proceeds directly going to support the work being done by The Salvation Army.

This year, the event will be held over two days at St. Thomas More Collegiate and on December 5th at Sutton Place Hotel | Downtown Vancouver at 845 Burrard Street from 7am to 7pm.

We are asking for your help in collecting toys for kids of all ages including  teenagers ( Items such as gift cards to: malls, bowling alleys, movie passes, iTunes, etc. are appreciated ).
