Toronto, ON February 25, 2013 – The Salvation Army announced today that it will collect discontinued pennies through the launch of its Penny Drive to help people in need across Canada. The public can donate their pennies to any one of the 120 participating Salvation Army Thrift Stores. Toronto, ON January 15, 2013 — Donors, volunteers, sponsors and partners across Canada helped The Salvation Army’s 2012 Christmas Kettle Campaign collect $20.6 million, just short of the Army’s $21 million goal. With nearly 2,000 kettles nationwide, economic conditions played a factor in the public’s overall giving. Toronto, ON – December 21, 2012 – On December 20, Walmart Canada hosted its third Walmart Fill the Kettle Day. Individual Canadians generously responded by donating more than $150,000 to Salvation Army Christmas kettles located in Walmart stores across the country and Walmart Canada matched with a corporate donation of $100,000.
