Diageo Canada’s Clothing Drive Supports Salvation Army

Throughout the entire month of April, Diageo Canada Inc., a consumer goods company located in Etobicoke, united more than 200 employees to collect gently-used clothing and household items to help local families in need.

This is the first-time that the company has partnered with The Salvation Army and with all hands on deck the team was able to generate an entire room full of donations, enough to fill a large truck.

Salvation Army Offers Help With Taxes in Cornwall, Ont.

A team of volunteers have set up shop at the Salvation Army to process tax returns.

Already around 400 people have taken advantage of the free service, which opened earlier this month, to properly process their finances.

The Salvation Army is working with the Canada Revenue Agency to ensure its volunteers are accredited and trained to complete the forms.

Burlington – Siemens Canada employees were proud to help those in need by participating in the 2011 Hope for Holidays program, including various charity events across Canada. Freezing rain and chilly temperatures weren’t enough to sway residents of Burlington from going out to support the grand re-opening of their new and improved Salvation Army Thrift Store.

By 8:45 a.m. on Friday, January 27th, hundreds of bargain hunters and thrift-loving shoppers had queued up outside the newly renovated and expanded store at 3245 Fairview Street waiting for the doors to open at 9 a.m.
