The Salvation Army has activated its Text to Donate program and Canadians are responding to this vital relief effort. For this, The Salvation Army is truly grateful. But, due to the volume of donors, the system maybe slow and The Salvation Army asks for your patience.

We are pleased that Telus has joined the program so Canadians can now make a $5 donation to The Salvation Army’s efforts in Haiti by texting the word HAITI to 45678 from most Canadian carriers.

PLEASE NOTE: Donors will then receive a message asking them to confirm their donation with a YES reply. This is crucial as the donation is not complete unless this secondary message is sent.

To date, only 30% of those who initiated the Text to Donate process actually completed it, meaning 70% of those donations are not confirmed.

The proceeds of each text donation will support the ongoing efforts to serve the victims of the recent horrific earthquake that has left thousands dead and many more without adequate food, clean water or shelter.
