Salvation Army Partners with Murdoch Mysteries on Holiday Special

This Christmas season, The Salvation Army is partnering with the CBC on a special episode of Murdoch Mysteries.

On Monday, December 12, at 8 p.m.(8:30 NT) the two-hour special ‘Once Upon a Murdoch Christmas’ will include scenes that feature The Salvation Army’s historic presence and message. The Christmas episode incorporates elements of The Salvation Army but also focuses on the importance of giving to others.

“This year’s holiday special provides the perfect platform for The Salvation Army to convey their message of giving during this most significant fundraising time of year,” says Mary Kreuk, Executive Director, Multiplatform Media Sales & Marketing, CBC & Radio-Canada Media Solutions.

“The Salvation Army is thrilled to participate in this year’s Murdoch Mysteries holiday special,” says John McAlister, National Director of Marketing and Communications for The Salvation Army. “It is a privilege to appear so prominently in the storyline of such a longstanding and critically acclaimed show.”

An encore broadcast will also be featured on Christmas Day at 5 p.m.(5:30 NT) Last year, 3.5 million Canadians watched the historical drama over the course of the broadcast.
