The Salvation Army’s Hadleigh Farm in Hadleigh, Essex, is the venue for the London 2012 mountain bike event, August 11 and 12.

For more than 120 years the special education needs training centre and working farm has removed barriers to employment.

The Salvation Army is playing a major role during London 2012 Olympic Games by handing out water and refreshments at major transport hubs, hosting big screen events at its local churches and members are providing accommodation for athletes’ families.

The Salvation Army in Canada will make a contribution at these games as well. A team of 20 Salvationists/members from across the Canada and Bermuda Territory will serve water and food, lead sports clinics and holiday clubs for children and teens, and take part in community festivals.

In addition, team members will promote awareness of anti-human trafficking initiatives at more than 20 locations throughout London.
