Food Bank seeking donations

Christmas food donations have almost depleted and the local Food Bank is hoping residents will open up their cupboards and their hearts and continue to help fill their empty shelves.

Salvation Army Lt. Nyree Bond said the High River Food Bank is currently averaging 30 to 40 families per day on the two days they’re open, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

“Our food shelves are getting quite bare,” she said. “We’re appealing to the community that they can donate food at any time, Monday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.”
