MOLLY MAID’s Christmas in July Food Drive raised 2,120 pounds of food that will assist in replenishing Salvation Army food banks across the country.
“Four million Canadians are unsure of where their next meal will come from,” says Major Les Marshall, Territorial Public Relations and Development Secretary. “Many parents are even skipping meals so that they can feed their children. People from all kinds of backgrounds are turning to our food banks.”
Statistics reveal that more than 918,000 Canadians will access the services of a food bank this summer, with 37% of those assisted children. Hunger doesn’t take a vacation. Thanks to the caring clients and employees of MOLLY MAID, The Salvation Army can help restore dignity to vulnerable children and families.
“The Salvation Army is truly grateful to MOLLY MAID and its customers,” says Major Marshall. “Their support will assist us as we strive to make lives a little easier for the hundreds of thousands of Canadians affected by poverty.”
