Grand Prairie Salvation Army Christmas Appeal Under Way

Major Daniel Roode says the money raised over the next five-and-a-half weeks is vital towards the work done by the Salvation Army in our city.

The Salvation Army has launched it’s 2012 Christmas Appeal in Grande Prairie.

$350,000 is the goal once again this year.

“Not only are we raising money for helping people who are in need at Christmas, but the money we raise also goes into the new year so that we are able to serve folks in Grande Prairie and the surrounding area all twelve months of coming year.”

It is common for children to have difficulty controlling their emotions.

Nicole, 11, got in lots of fights at school. Lindsay, 13, pushed people. Today, with help from The Salvation Army’s Red Cap anger management program in Dartmouth, N.S., they have developed appropriate responses to anger-provoking situations and have confidence in their ability to control their emotions.
