Donations Down at Salvation Army

Donations of household items and clothing are down by an estimated 50 per cent this summer, compared to last year at this time at the Salvation Army’s thrift stores in Abbotsford and Mission.

Spokesperson Deb Lowell said this decrease means the agency is not only having difficulty providing supplies to people for whom it finds housing, but less money is coming in from the sale of these items in the thrift stores.

i have some furniture that i wish to donate to you but i have no access to a moving truck to brink it to you .do you have a pick up program where someone will come over and take it out of my apartment

Baby Gift Bag Program Gives a Hand up to Mothers in Need

“Not everyone has the same support with the birth of a child,” says Lynne Mumford, community and family services worker for The Salvation Army in Peterborough, Ont. “Our baby gift bag, or newborn program, helps low-income mothers know that we value their child and they are not alone in this journey.”

The newborn program is one of many services offered at The Salvation Army in Peterborough that include a food bank,  breakfast program,  financial management and emergency assistance.
