Hot meals are being delivered in west Niagara two nights a week with the possibility of adding more.
The Salvation Army has taken the lead on an initiative to curb homelessness in Niagara and one of the first steps is a mobile outreach. The kitchen-on-wheels started delivering hot meals last year in Beamsville, through a partnership with Community Care of West Niagara. Hot meals were served to Community Care clients, and others in the community, Wednesday evenings, free of charge, at First Baptist Church. This year, the Salvation Army is continuing that program but adding stops in Grimsby and eventually, West Lincoln.
