Elves and Santas and reindeer – oh my! The country banded together on Saturday December 6, 2014 to fight poverty and restore dignity in Canada at the 24th annual Santa Shuffle 5k Fun Run & 1k Elf Walk. 41 cities across the country took part, including Lethbridge, Red Deer, Calgary, and Edmonton, where over 1600 Shufflers came out to race. The Christmas season is upon us and The Salvation Army Addictions and Residential Centre (ARC) in Edmonton held their annual community Christmas dinner on Tuesday, hosting over 400 guests for a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Coat Drive Provides Coats to Vulnerable Calgarians


The 12th annual Share the Warmth Coat Drive wrapped up last week with nearly 5,000 coats being collected for Calgary’s less fortunate! The Jeff and Sarah Show on Q107 encouraged Calgarians to give, which helped donations grow from 423 coats in 2012, to nearly 5,000 coats this year. Alberta Division Installs New Leaders


The Alberta and Northern Territories Division saw the  official Installation of its new Divisional Leaders, Majors Toni and Ron Cartmell on Saturday August 16, 2014 at the beautiful Salvation Army Pine Lake Camp. Major Toni will take on the appointment of Divisional Director of Women’s Ministries, with Major Ron as Divisional Commander. Their previous appointment was in Kelowna, but they have served in Alberta prior to that as Area Commanders.

2012 marks the 130th year of The Salvation Army in Canada, and we’ve been celebrating!

In Calgary on July 2nd, over 2000 doughnuts were enjoyed as we celebrated at Heritage Park.
