Wood Automotive Group Donates $100,000 To Calgary Kettles


The Salvation Army Calgary Christmas Kettle Campaign received a major boost last week when Wood Automotive Group pledged to donate $100,000 by making a donation for every vehicle sold at their dealerships throughout December. Participating dealers are Woodridge Ford Lincoln, Advantage Ford, Big 4 Motors, Village Honda, Driverz Auto, Okotoks Ford Lincoln, Cavalcade Auto Acceptance, and All Makes Collision and Repair.

Community Christmas Dinner More Than Just A Meal


Every December, The Salvation Army’s Addictions and Residential Centre (ARC) in Edmonton holds a free Christmas dinner open to anyone in the community. The number of people who attend varies each year depending on weather and economic situations, and this year, 354 people enjoyed a traditional Christmas turkey dinner, served by 35 volunteers.

Christmas Programs Brings Hope To Families


Growing up in foster care and battling addictions and mental illness as a teen, Doreen Chalifoux never experienced a real Christmas with her family. Now the single-parent of six has been able change that for her own children with the help of The Salvation Army.

Hope In The City Event Launches Kettle Campaign In Edmonton


The Salvation Army in Edmonton officially launched its annual Christmas Kettle Campaign on November 18 at The Hope in the City Luncheon that raised just under $98,000 towards their 2015 goal of $550,000. Guest speaker Cam Tait, veteran journalist, author and comedian kept the audience of 290 captivated with his remarkable story of how hope helped him overcome his physical limitations stemming from cerebral palsy. Salvation Army Reaches Out At 15th Homeless Connect Event


Edmonton’s homeless and at-risk residents came out Sunday October 25, for the 15th Homeless Connect at the Shaw Conference Centre. With an increasing number of attendees every year, this bi-annual event has become the epicenter for connecting social services with Edmonton’s most vulnerable residents. Over 2,100 guests came through the doors exceeding the estimated 1,700 attendees.

Salvation Army centres across the Alberta & Northern Territories Division served traditional Thanksgiving dinners to residents, clients, and guests this weekend with the help of volunteers and staff. Drumheller Stuff-the-Bus Food Drive Restocks Shelves


The 6th Annual Drumheller “Stuff the Bus” event took place on August 27 and brought in 2332 lbs of food and $4003.35 for the local Salvation Army Food Bank.
