“It is the most welcoming choir you will ever find, and there is literally everybody there from people who have studied music to people that occasionally sing along to the radio,” says Castledowns Community Choir member Laura Doyle. “Everybody is there helping and supporting and cheering everyone else on. This year, Stahl Peterbilt, a heavy duty truck dealership in Edmonton, celebrates 10 years of doing just that with their annual toy drive, collecting 895 toys this year alone for The Salvation Army’s Christmas program.

Edmontonians who struggle with chronic unemployment have a new service to help them find work. The Salvation Army FUTURES Employment Centre, located at 9611 102 Avenue NW, officially opened its doors on November 3.

The space includes two stations with “well-seasoned” computers, work spaces, job boards, and stations for more computers as the funds become available.
