This year is a pretty big one for the Glenmore Temple Band as they are celebrating their 125th anniversary. Formed in 1892, the band has been providing Calgary with music at community events, seniors’ residences, worship services, the Stampede Parade, and at Salvation Army Christmas Kettles.

Celebrating their 130th anniversary this year, The Salvation Army Oshawa Temple Band made a visit to Alberta where they performed five concerts in just three days!

The tour began with a stop at Banff’s Central Park surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Locals and tourists alike popped by and threw down blankets on the grass to take in the performance.

Salvation Army band members beamed with excitement as they loaded a school bus bright and early Friday morning, July 4, 2014. This day would mark a major milestone for The Salvation Army Band, as they would celebrate 100 years of marching in the Calgary Stampede Parade.

The weather was perfect; clear skies and warm temperatures accompanied the band along the 4.5 kilometre parade route. Thousands of onlookers cheered on the band as they marched in the world famous parade.
