Lively music can be heard from all around The Salvation Army's Pine Lake Camp as the sound of horns, strumming of guitars, and sweet voices of a choir carry through the air. It is Gospel Arts Camp, and campers aged 9 to 18 are spending the week learning how to play an instrument, sing in a choir, or perform drama. For many, this will be their first experience participating in the arts. Members of Salvation Army bands and leaders from around the Division arrive to coach the eager performers, and watch as they develop new skills and build confidence. Campers are grouped based on their chosen activity, and spend the week learning and growing together.

In between practice and lessons, they participate in traditional camp experiences like climbing, canoeing, and swimming, and at the end of the week, the groups come together for a final concert and perform for the rest of the camp. Through hard work and a lot of fun, the campers will leave with new skills, confidence, and lasting friendships.
