Talk about Fun! The Salvation Army Barbara Mitchell Family Resource Centre’s 2nd Annual Stampede Breakfast was a big hit with hundreds of young and old who attended. Flapjacks, bacon, sausages, and fruit salad gave the young ones plenty of energy to run from one attraction to the next. The little cowpokes galloped along as they took in the many activities such as face painting, bouncy castle, water fights, and the Little Buckaroo Play Area. Parents were happy to sit back and enjoy the hot sunny weather and take in the live country music by the WildRose Wranglers.

In October of 2013, The W. Garfield Weston Foundation donated $1.1 million in honour of Barbara Mitchell to support families striving to overcome adversity. Foundation support has enabled The Centre to undertake much needed improvements, along with funding to help cover the cost of programing for several years. Five of Barbara Mitchell’s children and other family members enjoyed the festivities and a tour of the facility.
