The TOYS “R” US store in Calgary’s northwest was buzzing with excitement as the players of Canada’s National Junior Hockey Team hit the floor running to collect toys for The Salvation Army Christmas Program. A big-hearted donation from NIKE, totaling $10,000, made it possible to for the young hockey stars to fill many shopping carts full of presents for families who would otherwise go without this Christmas. A small group of young Calgary hockey players were also on hand to meet the National team and help pack The Salvation Army’s Community Services truck with a mountain of Christmas gifts.
