The Salvation Army received help from Kenora residents today (July 25), as they worked to get donations for their food bank. Special Events coordinator, Mark Duggan says that the community really helped the organization.
“Kenora’s come out again. The theme was fill that van, and the van is now full. The Salvation Army is very pleased, there’s boxes and boxes of non-perishable items,” he said.
The shelves at the Salvation Army were bare, prompting them to take action. They had a van set up at Wednesday’s farmers’ market, in order to give people a chance to donate. Roy Bladen, Salvation Army director, had previously noted that they were dealing with multiple issues that caused the shortage.
