December 10, 2011, was a cold, blustery day in Pickering, Ontario, but that didn’t stop the more than 140 runners from the community’s local Running Room in raising funds for The Salvation Army.
The eighth annual “Snowflake Run”, a 5km or 10km walk or run, raised $1,154.53.
“This donation will make a difference in the lives of many people in this community,” said Andrew Burditt, The Salvation Army’s National Director of Marketing and Communication, as he received the cheque. “We say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported us.”
