Vancouver – For the second consecutive year, The Salvation Army is celebrating May as Dignity Month. In Vancouver, The Salvation Army in partnership with local pop up shop Cartems Donuterie, will be honoring this occasion by giving hope and donuts in the Downtown core on May 15th between 11.30am and 1.15pm
Distributing FREE mini ‘Sally Ann’ red velvet donuts to Vancouverites ‐ as prepared by Cartems ‐Salvation Army volunteers will move from one location to the next beginning at Robson Square, moving to Bentall One and concluding at Waterfront Station. Hoping to gain excitement and a social media following throughout the course of the event, the objective and opportunity at hand will be to tell the story and impact of The Salvation Army in our community in a unique and fun manner.
Since World War I, donuts have symbolized The Salvation Army’s long history in investing in the care and concern for those less fortunate and in need around the world ‐ as dignity is a basic human right for one and all.
The Salvation Army is thrilled to be working with donut shop, Cartems Donuterie, in making this event possible and admire their willingness to give back to the community.
In addition to day of events, from Thursday ‐ Sunday of the same week, Cartems Donuterie will be selling the signature Sally Ann donut at their storefront for more people to experience.
