  1. Forced insanity, unfortunately, yes.
Many institutions are filled with people who are victims of crime but can’t prove it.Instead of helping a victim, who are usually poor and can not hire a lawyer to enforce their Charter of Rights, they/we, get written off as mentally ill. It is too easy for someone to call 911 and say,’I think so&so is going to harm themselves’. Boof, the people in white coats are standing on both sides of the victimised victim ready to take them under their (forced) control and pump antipsychotic meds into them so that they can not think clearly, and clearly are being made to shut up. I know this from personal experience.

  2. My husband is a recovering alcoholic (20 plus years sobriety). My two youngest sons are addict/alcoholics…..one of whom is now schizophrenic, the other with HepC and personality disorders. Two daughters one of whom has 14 plus years sober; the other a life spent in psychistric facilities but now sober and living independently with community assistance. My grandparents were Salvation Army Officers and I am so grateful to God for my heritage and for HIS compassion, love and grace to uphold me through the difficult days.

  3. I am assuming that by definition clinical depression is included as a mental illness in this poll.

  4. Darlene. You are SO RIGHT and I agree Completely with your statement.

I also speak from Personal Experience and the “UN-Treatment” I saw happening all to often. Making Zombies out of “Patients” Etc.

It was only when “I” made the decision that what they where Doing/Feeding Me in the way of So Called “Therapy” was doing more Harm than Good!!

As a Novice my answer would be, with all due Respect …. Depression is Depression. Clinical or Otherwise.

The Difference being the word “Clinical” which puts it into the Category I’m talking about above.

  5. I believed the psychiatrists when they told me I had a mental illness. Then I started reading the word of God and I believed him when he told me I was ok. I have not taken any medicine in 4 months and have lost weight and am healthy and happy!
