Throughout the entire month of April, Diageo Canada Inc., a consumer goods company located in Etobicoke, united more than 200 employees to collect gently-used clothing and household items to help local families in need.
This is the first-time that the company has partnered with The Salvation Army and with all hands on deck the team was able to generate an entire room full of donations, enough to fill a large truck.
Robert Duncan, General Accountant, organized the clothing drive and says it is the most successful community event that has been hosted by the company.
“At Diageo Canada Inc., we have always strived to be an active participant in the local community, offering assistance to local organizations to benefit those in need. Although we have successfully initiated a number of different events over the last few years, our Salvation Army donation drive really ignited a strong response from our employees which resulted in the enormous amount of donations collected.”
Robert says he is proud of the spectacular result and is deeply satisfied to know that through The Salvation Army, the donations will be directed to help families and individuals in the Etobicoke community.
“Diageo Canada is proud of this new partnership with The Salvation Army and we look forward to participating in many, many more opportunities in the future.”
