As temperatures drop, should homeless be forced inside?
According to Environment Canada, more than 80 people die each year from over-exposure to the cold. The homeless, seniors, infants and newcomers to Canada are particularly vulnerable to the risks of frostbite and hypothermia.
Every year, the idea of forcibly removing homeless people from the streets during extreme weather is raised. While shelter is available, there are only so many people willing to come out of the cold, no matter how low the temperature drops or how hard the wind blows.
And those who remain on the streets find ways to survive—because that’s what being homeless teaches you to do.

I am a soldier at the Corps in Glendale, AZ. Arizona has a pretty bad homeless situation in the winter, be we don’t freeze over here. in any case, I don’t believe we can force them anywhere. they will do as they please. All we can really do is offer help, and pray they accept!
