Salvation Army holiday campaign short on funds

While Christmas is traditionally a time of giving, donations for the Salvation Army’s annual holiday fundraising drive have been coming up short.

With only five days left in the so-called red kettle Christmas campaign, organizers say they need more donations.

According to spokesman John Murray, the group had a goal of raising $2.5 million this year for the region. Murray added that with the effort coming to a close, organizers are about $750,000 short. Read full story…

  1. i love the salvation army.i voulenteer every year for your kettles.you are the only ones that would help my dad when he was hurt and in a full body cast in world war 2.the red cross came in and would’nt even help my dad but in walks the salvationa rmy.and helped my dad with everything.including shaving which he couldnt do himself because of being ion a body cast.i would never ever turn my back on the salvation amry.they have also helped me when i first moved up to picton and had nothing for my son and i.i will always help the salvation army al;waysyou guys are the most impornant people as far as im concerned.thank you from the bottom of my heart.for helping my dad and helping me with my son.i love the salvation army and will always be there for you when you need help
