For hundreds of thousands of people, the economy has stolen Christmas 2009. On November 26, Grammy-nominated rock band, Daughtry, will perform and encourage people to generously support The Salvation Army’s Kettle campaign at the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game halftime show.

Daughtry’s performance will mark the 13th year that the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game halftime show officially launches the Red Kettle Christmas campaign in the United States on a nationally televised stage.

During the event the Dallas Cowboys and Daughtry will express the importance of giving back during the Christmas season.

The following day, Back Friday, is the first day of Christmas shopping where stores are mobbed from opening to closing. As bargain-hunting shoppers battle traffic jams and stand in long lines to get the best deal, The Salvation Army encourages them to remember those recovering from the economy, those unemployed and those on tight budgets who, more than ever, could use some Christmas cheer.
