Salvation Army kettle campaign gets high-tech

The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign has turned to the internet in Canada.

The annual Christmas fundraising drive, during which volunteers located throughout cities solicit monetary donations, now has an online component. The agency has created cashless red kettles, known as iKettles, to enable people to support the campaign in a whole new way.

Supporters of the Salvation Army can become a virtual bell-ringer by hosting their own online kettle. People can customize their own web page with photos and video then send out emails to family, friends and anyone else to donate. Read full story…
