Homelessness: Shelter still set to open this fall

B.C. – The construction of the Gateway of Hope shelter is right on schedule, and the Salvation Army is hoping the scheduled October opening will be, too.

The Gateway of Hope will combine several functions, including a year-round shelter for the homeless, transitional housing for those getting off the street or just out of drug treatment, and community services for the marginalized and poor. Read full story…
