When it comes to jobs, income and home ownership, immigrants are finding more opportunities in the suburbs. And, many who first settled in large cities have left for a better life in a smaller community.
Big cities are finding it harder to meet their labour needs with well-educated and highly-skilled immigrants moving to smaller communities. Smaller communities are struggling to accommodate the influx. They don’t have the resources to provide settlement needs such as language upgrading and employment counselling.
Moving to a new country is not an easy task. The Salvation Army is dedicated to supporting immigrants and refugees in their journey to full participation in Canadian society. http://www.harbourlight.org/irs/
