TORONTO – On September 4, 2008, more than 300 friends and supporters of The Salvation Army gathered at Angus Glen Golf Club for the 8th Annual Salvation Army Golf Classic.
Hosted by The Ontario Central-East Division, the golf classic was an opportunity to highlight the mission of The Salvation Army and raise funds for its vital work. Proceeds raised will fund community sports programs for disadvantaged kids.
On this sun-filled day, Lance Brown, Sports Director of CTV supported the event by swinging his clubs and hosting as the Master of Ceremonies. Territorial leaders, Commissioners Marilyn and William Francis also joined in to swing a club.
Thanks to the generosity of corporate partners and the extended community of friends of The Salvation Army, more than 1,000 children from less fortunate homes in the Greater Toronto Area will have the opportunity to participate in constructive activities that will teach them teamwork, build friendships, confidence and self-discipline, in a safe environment.
